​Art Through the Ages

The Garden Clubs of Ontario’s 11th Triennial Flower Show, ‘Art Through the Ages,  A Floral Journey ’ was held in June  2016  in Burlington, Ontario in partnership with the Royal Botanical Gardens.  There was floral art representing the Prehistoric Period, Art of the Ancient Eastern world and Mosaics representing Art of the Ancient Western world, Mayan, Aztec, Inuit and our First Nations.  The floral journey continued from the Middle Ages through to Contemporary Canadian Art.
Each member Club was asked to submit individuals’ entries in the various classes in the Design Division and/or Horticulture Division. Volunteers were solicited to judge and clerk each class in these Divisions. First, Second, Third Place and Honourable Mention ribbons were awarded as well as, among others, ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Judges’ Choice’ in design and horticulture.

Garden Clubs of Ontario Triennial Flower Show 2013
​Made in Canada/Fait au Canada

The Garden Clubs of Ontario’s 10th Triennial Flower Show, ‘Made in Canada-Fait au Canada’ was held in early June (2013) in Burlington, Ontario in partnership with the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Each member Club was asked to submit individuals’ entries in the various classes in the Design Division and/or Horticulture Division. Volunteers were solicited to judge and clerk each class in these Divisions. First, Second, Third Place and Honourable Mention ribbons were awarded as well as, among others, ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Judges’ Choice’. A special ‘President’s Choice Award’ was open to members of Garden Clubs or Horticultural Societies outside of Ontario.

The resulting ‘Show’ was an impressive showcase of creative and artistic talent, making an inspiring spectacle for the many visitors. The Executive of the Garden Clubs on Ontario wishes to thank all those individuals and Clubs who participated in its success.
